the first five are the original pictures i have chose for the project of the travel/uses of a plastic bag, but as discussed earlier in my group critique we decided the first two (dog and holding a full grocery bag) did not fit as well as the others, that speak a higher message. so now i am unsure what would be the best choices out of the other 5 i was unsure of. i am thinking the 6th and 9th one down.
Krista,
ReplyDeleteFirst, I think, you need to decide what is the central theme of your story. If you want to show plastic bags as litter then it is true, the first don't fit. However, if you want to show a chronology - the life cycle of a plastic bag then the first two are very important.
- Personally, I find the first shot very well done. The clean composition and clear subject work very well at conveying the story. It evoked a laugh of recognition for me as I realized the future of that plastic bag.
- The second photo is not as effective as the first, although it seems an important piece of the story. A shopping cart with bags and groceries would be another way to show this.
- In constructing a narrative the order you show the photos is of utmost importance.
- In the photos with the wooden boards I find it less clear what is happening or why those different elements are together.
- Photos 6 to 9 are very similar in content, so I would not be inclined to use more than 1 of them.
I hope that helps!
