the first five are the original pictures i have chose for the project of the travel/uses of a plastic bag, but as discussed earlier in my group critique we decided the first two (dog and holding a full grocery bag) did not fit as well as the others, that speak a higher message. so now i am unsure what would be the best choices out of the other 5 i was unsure of. i am thinking the 6th and 9th one down.

Week5 photo assignment
What interests me about the subjects I photographed is the textures and connections between the subjects. Like in the pictures of the two chairs and how they relate to the area surrounding it, and because they are old and rusty it makes for interesting textures that pop out. Also i was looking at the placement of things in my backyard and campus in relation to its area i wanted to see what would work and what would not.
The compositions help the views see what interested me is because some are very in your face, the main object is upfront, or able to draw you back to the rest of the picture.

Assignment week 4-good photo
Week 4:
Brett weston - Beachcomber 1945
1. Composition: things are placed well, we able to see what is important in the front and in the back
2. lighting: although in black and white the background sky in not distracting, but since this is an outside scene lighting cannot be controlled.
3.Clear focal point: our eyes go right to the three boats in the front, where we notice the man and the boats are directed to send us to the back, and see what else the photo has to show
4. Purpose: not a true purpose is spoken but suggested that it is disaster.
5. The subject is interesting: it is appealing to wonder about this man and if this is his property, and what happened to him, or if this has always been his life style
6.Unique perspective, not a lot used, it seems to be very straight on. although a little higher than the boats and man.
7.Creativity; not much used because it is already placed, but the placement of the boats makes it interesting because it is again directing you to the whole scene
8.Multiple layers: Used very well, we can be brought back layer by layer in the photograph, i consider this to be the strongest part of the photo.
9.emotional response; yes it is there, you feel sympathy for the man and the area surrounding him
10. technical skills; knows how to frame his pictures well, and using black and white to have the right contrast. Especially for the time period this photograph was taken in.

Assignment-Attention
There are many creative useful ways to draw ones eye to a photograph besides using aperture to control depth of field. One way is to make a photograph more interesting and creative for the viewer. Instead of simply taking a straight on view of an object, move it around, make it more interesting and less boring. Have the viewer have a flow of the picture starting with the most important subject and going around. Another way is Color, making something bright and vibrant will draw the viewers eye. This can be helped with by lighting on a subject, telling us it is the most important part.
